Lighthouse's and Nirmala Niketan's ABT Certificate Course 2017-18

We are now glad to announce the opening of applications window for the ABT Certificate Course 2017-18.

ABT is the evidence-based use of art forms (music, drama and visual arts) to accomplish therapeutic goals for individuals and/or in a group.

Lighthouse is dedicated to the therapeutic interventions and workshop practice since 2002.
Nirmala Niketan, is a well reputed college of Home Science and Social Work in Mumbai

The ABT Certificate Course first started in 2005 in Pune under the banner of WCCL Foundation, and was the only long-term training of its kind in India. The number of certified ABT Practitioners working in different organisations across India today is now nearing 300!
Mumbai had its first ABT Certificate Course in 2016

Features:

For graduate students and professionals inorganizations serving varied populations

Modular and part time - two modules (9 full days in May and weekends in August and September 2017) in Mumbai (Maharashtra), all other coursework at participants' organization

Contribution to organization – ABT strives to integrate with the organization's framework and supports its healing objectives

Inclusion – not exclusion; anybody can do it - Designed for 'non-artists'; Past students include therapists, social workers, caregivers, students, clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, physiotherapists and doctors. Participants' age (and thus work experience) varies between 22 years to 65 years!

Intensive training in theory, skills and practice of ABT spread over 9 months (May 2017 – February 2018); this implies supervised long-term guidance and practice.

ABT Course is NOT a workshop. There are credits and assessments; an average 65%-70% rate of passing.

Subsidized Fees - fees are subsidized and include ABT kit to work with ten people at a time.
