Origami is the art of paper folding. “Ori” meaning "folding" and kami meaning "paper" is often associated with Japanese culture. In modern usage, the word "origami" is used as an inclusive term for all folding practices, regardless of their culture of origin. Origami promotes fine motor skills development, eye-hand co-ordination and creativity. Our children learnt basic origami skills in one of the session. They made a closed umbrella, a joker’s hat and a sailing boat. They chose the sailing boat to stick on a paper and give it a background.
