  • What's New In This Month

    Events

    • For the past few years, March has been a very important month for us at ChildRaise because since 2010, we have been celebrating 'Purple Day' for Epilepsy on March 26th. ChildRaise was the first organisation which brought Purple Day to India. Cassidy Megan of Nova Scotia, Canada started the Purple Day for Epilepsy Awareness when she was just eight. She had epilepsy and she felt that people should not fear epilepsy. Instead they should come together to support the person who has this condition. So she, with the help of her mother Angela, organised an awareness talk to explain her condition to her school friends. She asked them to wear Purple as this colour represents brain and epilepsy. Purple colour also represents isolation which is the social outcome of epilepsy, the feeling experienced by Cassidy and millions of people all around the world who have epilepsy. Thus , Purple Day was born and now it is celebrated worldwide.

This year, ChildRaise has initiated 'Purple Path'. A walking journey towards Epilepsy Awareness! Walk in support of Fits and for Fitness! ChildRaise participants are walking daily and adding up their steps till March 26th. Do join us in Purple Path and Do Not forget to Wear Purple on March 26th to show your support to Epilepsy!
