Makar Sankranti

On the Occasion of Makar Sankranti, our children made their own Kites with their imagination. At ChildRaise we always encourage them to follow their own path when it comes to creativity. They made these beautiful kites of their favorite shapes and colours to celebrate this first festival of the year. We were thankful that the pandemic was subsiding and the kids could come to the center and mingle with each other following social distancing. We were happy to bring some cheer in our kid's lives.

February 2021

Epilepsy Medicine Distribution

Sanjivani Project in collaboration with Rotary Club of Mumbai Dahisar (RCMD) is called RCMD Sanjivani, which is gaining momentum. We are collaborating with different special schools, therapy centers and providing Anti Epilepsy Medicines (AEMs) to students who have epilepsy along with Intellectual Impairment, Cerebral Palsy, and Autism. Because of the pandemic, we supplied medicines via courier to homes of some students and some parents came to the center and collected them. Epilepsy medicines are on par with life saving medicines. Even if one single dose of Epilepsy medicine is missed, there is a chance of a seizure breakthrough. Whatever the situation posed by the pandemic, we tried to rise above it and saw to it that there was no delay or gap in the supply of medicines.

LifeLine Express Epilepsy Clinic

LifeLine Express is a Hospital on Train. It is a very unique idea of reaching remotest areas of India where there is no medical help. Our Founder Kavita Shanbhag, is seen volunteering and counselling epilepsy patients on LLE Bajpatti, Sitamarhi, Bihar in February 2021.

We felt that we should make use of the extra time we are getting, since our switch to online mode due to the pandemic and restrictions on travel since April. We started working on our student's writing skills in both English and Marathi. We are focusing on Descriptive writing skills. We made use of toys, favorite food items to make this session dynamic and interesting.

World Environment Day

We often see our students get amused by nature's little wonders which we felt should be appreciated and encouraged. Therefore, we taught them to sow some seeds and watch them germinate and record the progress.

We collaborated with two organisations Prayas Ek Koshish & HEALTH . Members of these two organisations distributed grocery kits under our Annapurna project.

Workshop on 'Punctuation' '

Since our Center is temporarily closed due to the Covid Restrictions, we have moved to Online mode. Although we have settled in our new routine, our children miss their friends and the camaraderie. To make this lock down a little more comfortable, we get together on some weekends and learn something new! We had a workshop on 'Punctuation' in English, Hindi and Marathi.

Gratitude
ChildRaise Team is extremely grateful to all our online donors who Contributed wholeheartedly for Annapurna project on a crowdfunding platform - Impact Guru. We are especially thankful for direct donations from HEAD Foundation (The Health, Education And Development Foundation) and Anita Nitin Gokan who is an ardent devotee of Shri Gajanan Maharaj. She relentlessly urged many Gajanan Maharaj devotees and collected funds for the Annapurna project. Thanks to all these donors we could distribute 1 month's grocery kits to over 515 people with disabilities.
